Dr. Randy C. Barton pastors Anchor Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest, NC, where he has faithfully filled the pulpit since 1984. Born and raised in Western North Carolina, he is married to Doris Summey Barton and they have two children and four grandchildren.
The ministries of Anchor Baptist Church include broadcasting-WGCR radio is a 50,000 Watt AM station that has broadcast the gospel since January 31, 1987; as well as WGCR.net which broadcasts 24/7 over the World Wide Web. With the power increase to 50,000 watts, WGCR is one of the most powerful Gospel radio stations in the US.
Educational Ministries include Anchor Baptist Academy, which opened in 1984 and continues to provide a Christian education to children K-12th grade; and Anchor Baptist Bible College which focuses on both fundamental training of newer Christians and young preachers, as well as in-depth Biblical training in the Scriptures.
Anchor Baptist Missions International (ABMI) includes a number of outreaches, including a rescue ministry that works within the community and surrounding region in providing a variety of helps with food and daily needs. Disaster relief across the nation or around the world-most recently providing aid to the tornado ravished areas of North Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee. ABMI Mission Board currently serves 55 missionaries in several foreign countries and across the US. One of the newest outreaches of Anchor Baptist includes Mission Aviation, utilizing airplanes in carrying the gospel (and the messenger) to hard to reach areas, as well as providing Mission Air Care to those serving in remote areas (such as the isolated islands of Alaska).
